Behind the shortened MG3 hides the Trio of the 24 year old upper Austrian pianist Martin Gasselsberger, who along with the bassist Roland Kramer and drummer Gerald Endstrasser has now presented his second album, after “Another moment” (2002) The nine compositions of Gasselsberger are original and clearly structured, and often have a easy blues or gospel touch and impress the listener with singable themes, which are always processed competently and imaginatively, but which take into account the "history" of the respective piece. Simultaneously relaxed and concentrated, they make music, the three musicians also respect the musical pauses and have audibly worked hard at the “whole sound” of the Trio . A marvellous Piano Trio, which does not need to shrink from international comparison. (schu)
